Talambralu - this is the fun part of the Telugu wedding ceremony, where the bride and groom shower each other with rice mixed with turmeric. This signifies joy and prosperity in the marriage. The bride and groom exchange garlands, and family members sprinkle rice and flower petals on them, symbolic of their blessings for the new couple.
The Telugu people or Teluguvaaru (Telugu: తెలుగువారు) are a Dravidian ethnic group that natively speak Telugu. Majority of them reside in the Indian provinces of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and town of Yanam in Pondicherry. There is also a significant Telugu population in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The Telugu language is the most spoken language in South India, the third-most spoken language in India and the fourth most in the Indian subcontinent, following Hindi, Bengali and Punjabi.
